What’s changed, and what’s the same?This year, we have simplified our offerings. All swimmers still need to be members and complete an annual disclaimer. We strongly recommend that your swimming medical is conducted before your first training session with us. We’re sticking with a requirement for RED hats for soloists and YELLOW hats for relay swimmers (this massively helps identification of swimmers approaching the beach and in the event of an emergency) Pricing is simplified. There is one price for a session, regardless of solo or relay. You will still book a solo or relay slot so we know what to expect and can plan accordingly. Significant changes and points: We do not accept new (to us) swimmers on any night swim. If you are coming as a relay team of 5 or more people, we require you to bring at least one person as shore support We will not support qualifying swims as the first swim with us.
These changes are all about minimising risk to you. We have introduced volunteer ratios according to the number of swimmers, with at least two volunteers per session. As the season progresses and water temperatures increase, the risks reduce, and our ratios can also flex. If you are travelling from overseas or are an out-of-town swimmer wanting to train with us while waiting for your swim, get in touch to discuss your need, and we’ll work out a package that’s right for you. — Intensity weekEvery year, we say that we’re not going to rerun this, and every year, you tell us that we need to! So, back by popular demand is our intensity week. There will be five training days; we will start with shorter swims and build to back-to-back. We’ll sprinkle a bit of DCT magic to bring the ‘intense’ into the intensity week without feeling overwhelmed. — Night swimsWe will be offering two night swims this year:
