DCT Virtual Training - Week 3
Thanks to those of you who joined our third virtual training session this morning. Whilst the weather wasn’t as nice as last week, you brought some sunshine to my life!
This week’s theme was Eurovision, great efforts in bringing that theme to life!

The plan for the day
Part 1
The first part was 15 minutes of cold water. Again we had a variety of options on display from tethered swimming in paddling pools, to shallow paddling pools, baths, showers, big garden tubs and even a swim bench!
Part 2
This was the spin the coin challenge - spin a coin on the floor and see how many times you can side step over it before it goes flat. Chris started with a strong 18, others found actually spinning the coin a challenge. I liked Mandi’s attempt at this with hands and head instead of feet.
Chris also discovered the reason why we get completely dry between swims. Don’t try this when wet!!
Part 3
This was time for the second dip - just 10 minutes this time and then time for a group chat with Mandi sharing some particularly funny stories about learning to sign towards the end.
It was lovely to have Joanna with us again - still with technical issues. Maybe one day we’ll get to see and/or hear her. In the meantime I’m looking forward to the spoof blog again this week. But is that her real name? If not, who is it really?
Next week
Given that we’re a tribe, there to support each other, the theme is anything tribal.
The challenge will require a little bit of vaseline and some cotton wool balls. See video at the end!
Dover training
You may have seen my blog during the week. If not, following the announcement from number 10 I analysed the steps laid out and the earliest that we can meet as a group is 4th July. Read more about that here.
In the meantime, I’m happy to run the Saturday morning and Wednesday evening sessions for as long as they are useful to you. If you can think of other ways that we could help each other through this time, please do let me know.
The best bits of today
Here’s a short clip of some of the screenshots from this morning.
Enjoy!!
